National League
The race for the two wild card playoff spots in the National League aren’t very close, considering The Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Pirates are two teams that have the top four best records in the MLB. The Washington Nationals and San Francisco Giants have a better chance of taking the pennant within their division. The Washington Nationals are 6.5 games back from the New York Mets and the San Francisco Giants are only 2.5 games back from the Los Angeles Dodgers. The St. Louis Cardinals, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Chicago Cubs are battling for the the NL Central. The winner of that division has the best chance of taking the number one seed in the National League Postseason.

American League
The race for the two wild card playoff spots in the American League are up for grabs by pretty much every team. The New York Yankees are in first place in the wild card hunt while the Texas Rangers are in second place as wild card team but only by 0.5 games. The Los Angeles Angels and Minnesota Twins are battling to take that position. The division leaders are the Toronto Blue Jays, Kansas City Royals, and Houston Astros.
